Rodolfo Eduardo Salazar Zamora, age 65 passed away Monday November 10th 2025 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family.

Rodolfo was born January 25th 1960 to Rodolfo and Herminia Salazar in Guatemala City. In his early years he developed a love of sports. Basketball, football, swimming, and Soccer. He excelled in all of them, but his love of Soccer was profound and by far is Favorite. Rodolfo schooling was completed at Instituto Modelo Guatemala. He loved school, and learning.

Rodolfo served a mission for the LDS Church for 2 years in Honduras. He was VERY proud of his service to his Heavenly Father and has many stories he shared with family and friends. His mission prepared him for the rest of his life.

After serving his mission, he moved to California. There he met the love of his life Juanita. Together they started building their beautiful eternal family. They spent some years in California and then moved to Utah. Rodolfo began working as an Automotive Paint Specialist in Guatemala and continued his career in California and Utah. He had an eye for matching colors. This gift was God given, not learned. He met and had many customers throughout the years. They would request Rodolfo work on their vehicles. He prided himself in his work, and loved his career.

Rodolfo had a passion for life. He looked at every day as an opportunity to learn and grow. He was a light for all those he came in contact with. Whether it was waving Hi in the parking lot, to coming to your home for a visit. He made you feel like you were the most special person in the room. He loved being outside fishing, riding four wheelers, taking trips to Bryce Canyon, to seeing his favorite water falls in Utah.

One of Rodolfo biggest accomplishments, was coaching his sons in Soccer team. He had a love of Soccer. It didn’t matter if he was playing, watching, or coaching you could always find him on the soccer field. The impact he left on the young men he coached, helped them in so many ways on and off the field. So many games, tournaments, trips to Cedar City he loved being with his Team.

Rodolfo’s most loved Title was Dad and Grandpa. The impression he left with his children/grand children was that he loved them no matter what, and would be there anytime, anywhere. He made it his biggest priority for each child to feel loved, and show that he was PROUD of them. Rodolfo was there for every event, big or small front row with a smile on his face. From countless soccer games, dance recitals, school achievements, birthday parties, family gatherings, graduations, and so many more events.

Rodolfo had a Testimony of his Savior and of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He shared it openly to anyone willing to listen. His Testimony touched to many lives to count. If you came into contact with him, he made sure you knew that the Savior loved for you as you are. He served in various callings for the LDS Church. Through his service he met and created relationships that he treasured.

Rodolfo, you have served well and now you may rest peacefully. Your heavenly father opens the gates of Heaven for you and welcomes you with Love. Although you are gone from this earth, your spirit will live on with and in all of us. God be with you until we meet again.

Rodolfo is survived by his Eternal Companion Juanita Salazar, Daughter Melanie Erickson, (Layne Husband) Son Rudy Salazar (Katy Wife) Son Brian Salazar and Son Jared Salazar. 5 Grandchildren Jeremy, Maya, Ellanyse, Brielle, and Davis.

Preceded in Death by his Father Rodolfo Salazar and Mother Herminia Zamora

A Funeral will be held Tuesday November 18th at 11:00 AM A visitation with be held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM that morning. Services will be held at 332 East 1000 North Tooele, UT 84074 Interment will take place at The Tooele Cemetery.

Rodolfo, has servido bien y ahora puedes descansar en paz.

Born on December 12th, 1962 in Knoxville, Tennessee, to William Alonzo Rogers and Margie Evelyn Roberts, Scott was a beloved son, grandson, brother, husband, father, and friend. He filled the lives of those around him with an incredible and unmatched sense of humor and zeal for fun and laughter. Scott possessed a brilliant mind, incredible charisma, disarming wit, and a huge heart. He had the rare gift of building community wherever he found himself, and inspired others with his words and actions.

Scott spent most of his childhood in Florida, where he developed his love for the ocean and surfing. He graduated from Merrit Island High School. Scott served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Munich, Germany. Scott graduated from Brigham Young University with his doctorate in Clinical Psychology. He opened his own counseling center in Blackfoot, Idaho in 1997. He discovered a passion for education and youth, and transitioned over to educational administration. He began this career as a middle school principal in Snake River, later becoming a superintendent at the Arco, Idaho school district, the Minidoka, Idaho school district, and the Tooele, Utah school district. He was a vocal advocate for the students and very involved in the individual schools. After many years, he stepped down from being a superintendent with the desire to spend more one-on-one time with students and make a meaningful, individual impact. He went back to be a principal at Bluff Ridge Elementary, finishing his full and successful career at Tolman Elementary. He loved being able to tease and joke with students and teachers, often coming up with the most creative skits or performances that imbued a bright vitality into the schools and students. He had a flair for the imaginative and expressive, taking on different personas complete with costuming and voicing. This made him incredibly memorable to all the staff and students he came in contact with.

Scott met his sweetheart Holly at BYU and they were married May 1st, 1985 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Scott was passionate about music and was an incredibly gifted musician. He could play multiple instruments (drums, bass guitar) and was always singing his favorite rock songs. He loved to perform, and spent several years thriving while playing with his band SOR (Superintendents of Rock). He excelled in this environment. He especially loved to play and sing with his son, Jake. His music and singing filled the days of his family’s lives like a personal soundtrack.

He was very passionate about karate, and opened his own karate school in Blackfoot, Idaho. He taught his wife and all of his children.

He enjoyed going to concerts with his family and friends. He loved camping with his family, four-wheeling, motorbikes, and boating. He loved the ocean and scuba diving, and was scuba certified.

He spent a lot of time going to disco dance clubs with his sisters, and was often referred to as the King of Disco his whole life. He had the coolest dance moves, was the greatest Elvis impersonator you would ever see, and told the best and worst jokes you would ever hear.

Most of all, he loved his family. His whole world centered around his family.

Scott is survived by his cherished wife Holly Rogers, his loved children Amanda (Mats) Peterson, Natalie Hargett, Olivia (Brady) Grover, Jacob (Tyana) Rogers, Rachel (Tony) Guzik, his dear grandchildren Lucy, Britta, William, Zoey, London, Ledger, Vincent, Finn, Rosalie, Maxwell, Leo, Jude, Aksel, and Beau, and his mother Margie Rogers, his sisters Marisa (Paul) Allen and Tina (Chuck) Gantz. All who will forever cherish his memory.

He is preceded in death by his father William Rogers, his grandson Sam, and his son-in-law Jason Hargett.

His departure leaves an unfillable void in their lives, yet they find comfort in the memories, the everlasting love they share, and the knowledge of the restoration provided by our Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel. We know we will see and laugh with him again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 15th at 11:00 A.M. at the Grantsville LDS Chapel, located at 81 North Church Street in Grantsville, Utah 84029.

Courtney Lance Evans, the man who could fix anything, went home to his beautiful wife Sara on Tuesday, November 4th after a determined battle with renal failure and complications after open heart surgery. He fought, iron-willed and unyielding, to the very end. Courtney was the youngest out of eight children, to his parents Cleo Walleen Evans and Francis Duane Evans. Born on April 18th, 1977 in Cedar City, Utah and grew up in Salt Lake City. Through his first marriage, he had three children; Kelley, Morgan and Hunter. It was through his second marriage where he made a home in Eagle Mountain with his wife Sara.

Being the youngest out of eight children, you could imagine he lived up to the title “the baby of the family” and some would say affectionately, “the favorite.” Not to be overshadowed by his strong will, courage and determination. His older siblings played an important role in his early years; teaching him how to throw a baseball, doing back flips on the trampoline, making sure he stayed on top of his school work and helping him find his love for hunting. He learned fast and was determined once his mind was made up. These qualities he kept throughout his life, never wavering.

Courtney grew to love the outdoors where he spent a lot of his time and adventures. Hunting, fishing, camping, riding snowmobiles, golfing and going rock crawling in his Jeep to name a few of his favorites. He also enjoyed woodworking when he could get his hands on a project. He included anyone who wanted to come along or learn something new. You could always count on him to be on “Courtney time” which meant he left the house when he felt like it even if that meant he was late to things and didn’t always have a plan but he would make sure everyone had fun in the meantime. Riding in the car with Courtney meant unprompted singing and country music. He had a varied taste in music genres and loved to connect to people through music, even learning the basics on guitar. He was a man of many trades, he could figure out how something works just by breaking it down and building it back up again.

Courtney became an auto mechanic from the young age of 16. He developed a passion and love for vehicles. There wasn’t a car that would come through the shop doors that he couldn’t repair. When something broke (especially vehicles,) you could call him up and rely on his help whether it was through the phone or him showing up to lend a hand. His adept skill of fixing things was cherished by many. A little later in life, he found himself working for Isco Industries where he served 18 dedicated years as a field technician and project manager. He poured his heart and soul into everything he did, creating life-long connections across the United States as well as across the world. Isco opened the door for him to travel to places he didn’t imagine he would see in his lifetime. He collected many souvenirs along the way through his travels and more than that, he gained life-long friendships, impacting the many lives he encountered.

Again, at a young age; Courtney became a father at 19 to his first born, Kelley, with Morgan and Hunter following with a couple of years in between each one. His kids became his whole world and was determined to show them the world. He included them in everything he did, from spending time outdoors to any spontaneous road trip no matter how small the distance. He believed in gaining knowledge and living life through experiences. His world was made even more abundant when his grandchildren came into the world. Lex, Salem, Oakley and Lukas gave him a renewed sense of life. He dove right in, head first, into being Grandpa with his little sidekicks and new adventures. You could find him packing them along in car seats on a hunting trip like he did with Hunter, singing karaoke in the living room and flipping them in the air to do back flips, assuring everyone he did that with his own kids.

In 2010, Courtney met his wife and soulmate, Sara. They made their relationship official (2010) and married (2018) on the same day of November 6th. They would have celebrated 15 years together and 7 years married this year. They built their life on love, passion and adventure. Their relationship inspired many and proved strong against any obstacle in their path. Sara fit right into Courtney’s life as he did hers, sharing many hobbies and interests, making even sweeter adventures when they could go on them together. Sara loved his kids as her own and together, they supported the kids and grandkids, making the root of everything they did about family. They showed up for siblings, nieces, nephews, parents, and friends ensuring they were always in your corner.

Courtney is survived by his three kids; Kelley, Morgan and Hunter (Sydney) Evans. His grandchildren, Lex and Salem Ramirez, Oakley and Lukas Evans. His mother Cleo Walleen Evans along with siblings; Tracy (Jackie) Evans, Troy (Debbie) Evans, Misty Evans Silva, Coty (Lisa) Evans, Alisha Evans, and Shon (Thelma) Evans, Brian (Amy) Blauser, Kristee (Jason) Castagno, Jennifer (Charles) Lawless, Scott (Lindsay) Blauser, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his soulmate Sara Lynn Blauser Evans, father Francis Duane Evans, and sister Cindy Kay Evans.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 11AM at the Vernon Ward Chapel 280 Main St. Vernon, UT 84080. Visitation will be held from 9AM to 10:30AM prior to service. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery in the care of Dalton-Hoopes Funeral Home.

Steven David Lewis

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, Steven David Lewis, a man of extraordinary strength, boundless love, and unwavering dedication, passed from this life, leaving an enduring legacy. Born on July 20, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Reed and Elizabeth Lewis, Steve’s life was a shining example of hard work, family, and resilience.

Steve married the love of his life, Donna Lewis, on June 28, 1971, and their eternal bond was sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 6, 1995. Together, they created a vibrant, blended family—“yours, mine, and ours.” Steve brought three sons, Donna brought two sons and a daughter, and together they welcomed three more sons and two daughters, forming a loving family of eleven children. Family was the cornerstone of Steve and Donna’s lives, and their devotion to each other and their children illuminated every moment they shared.

Steve was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Reed and Elizabeth, his son David, his brothers Gary and Roy, his sister Joan, and his cherished wife, Donna. Their reunion in eternity is undoubtedly filled with joy. He leaves behind his ten living children, numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and strength.

Renowned for his remarkable work ethic, Steve often balanced two or three jobs—working as a welder, mechanic, truck driver, computer repair technician, and Novell Engineer—to provide for his family. His skilled hands could fix anything, from machinery to electronics, and his heart was equally adept at nurturing those he loved. Despite enduring a broken back and countless injuries, Steve’s resolve never faltered. For him, rising each day to provide for his family was a sacred responsibility.

Even with his demanding schedule, Steve always found time for adventure and connection. He treasured taking Donna and their children hunting, camping, fishing, and motorcycle riding, creating cherished memories that will live on. His physical and emotional strength was a guiding light, and his quiet endurance through life’s challenges inspired all who knew him.

Steven David Lewis was a man of unparalleled grit, profound love, and steadfast devotion. His legacy endures in his ten children, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and perseverance. Though deeply missed, his spirit will forever inspire and guide those fortunate enough to have known him.

In leu of flowers the family has asked for any donations to be provided to the GoFundMe listed below. Thank you all.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 1 PM in the Heber City Cemetery.

Terry Martell Holden, 78, of Abilene, Texas, passed away at home on October 16, 2025. Born in Rexburg, Idaho, on January 12th, 1947, to Edgar Martell and Dorothy Reene Anderson, Terry was the oldest of four children. Not long after graduating from Madison High School, Terry met Connie Hoopes who was living in Rexburg at the time attending Ricks College. Terry and Connie were married on August 12, 1967, the beginning of a 58-year adventure that would include extended sojourns in Vietnam (Terry), Afghanistan (Connie), Germany, and too many states to list. Along the way came their children: Terry James (Krum, TX); Ryan Hoopes (Portland, OR); Joshua Bleu (Lubbock, TX); and Mary Alyssa (Abilene, TX). Until his dying breath, Terry was wholly devoted to his wife and children, and eventually, his grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Devoted…Terry was not only devoted to his family, he was devoted to his country, having been a proud Vietnam Veteran and retired Army soldier of 23 years. Terry was devoted to his church, God, and Savior, spending countless hours serving others all across Abilene and swaths of West Texas (much of the time, in the shadows and unknown to others). Terry was devoted to his friends-in the church, in the neighborhood, at Kent\’s Harley Davidson, and other places his family likely are unaware of; he was such an amenably gregarious man. And, finally, Terry was devoted to a good joke, and most especially, a practical joke that could go on and on and on.

Upon entering retired life, Terry bought his first Harley Davidson. Rides all across Texas and states along the Rocky Mountains, sometimes alone, or with Mary Alyssa or Kaleigh Madison, or with his riding buddies, became as important to Terry\’s well-being as his family, faith, and friendships. He was a humble member of the local Patriot Guard and loved serving in such a profound capacity.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, brother (Steven), sister (Candy Chapple), and grandson (Jacob Blake). He is survived by his wife; children; Maranda and Jill (his daughters-in-law of almost 30 years); grandchildren: Autumn Rose, Jacob Blake, Shawn Blake, Kaleigh Madison, Landon Ryan, Quinn Nicole, Nicolas Stokes; great granddaughter, Monroe Jane; and only remaining sister and sibling, Claudia Perry (Jackson, WY).

Pallbearers will be TJ Holden, Ryan Holden, Joshua Holden, Shawn Holden, Landon Holden, and Joe McNeel Hoopes (Seattle, WA).

A viewing will be held this Monday, October 20th, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Hamil Family Funeral Home, located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st, at 11:00 AM, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 3325 North 12th Street, Abilene, with interment to take place at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery of Abilene, located at 7457 W. Lake Road, Abilene. All are welcome to attend to celebrate and reminisce over a life well lived.

Steve and Laurel met in Star Valley Wyoming in August of 1983. Steve was working on the road construction crew. The evening they met he had gotten his hand caught in the Rock Crusher at work that day. He had a cast on his hand and she knew right from the get-go that he was tough as nails! They had a short courtship and he proposed on November 16th, his birthday. They were married on February 10th 1984 in Afton Wyoming.

Jason was the first born son, born on January 29th 1985. His brother Blake was born January 18th 1988.

They lived in Kearns Utah until 2005. Life in Kearns was wonderful. Steve worked for a mattress company and delivered mattresses for a time , he could throw a mattress on his shoulders and haul them without breaking a sweat. He also worked for a construction company and a concrete company and spent some time in Reno, Nevada and also in Golden Colorado. He was gone for long periods of time.

He always had a love for serving in the medical profession and went to school to be a medical assistant. Which led to him going back to school to get his registered nurse certificate. When studying he would shut the bedroom door and lay on the bed to study, Jason and Blake would stand at the door and try to get him to come out and play with them. The boys also had friendships in that neighborhood. (Jason add more). They had the best Neighbors and Ward and we\’re very close to many people in Kearns.

Steve worked in several medical facilities and hospitals in the Salt Lake Valley. He worked first as a triage nurse for FHP. Later working at Pioneer Valley Hospital, and LDS Hospital in the psych units. He ended his career working with geriatric patients. Laurel and the boys took a basket of fruit and went to see his patients one day and as he introduced them to one of his elderly patients as they were leaving the room she told Laurel \”I just love your husband he\’s so kind and wonderful to me, I wouldn\’t want to be here if he wasn\’t here.\” When they left the room Steve said that\’s funny she threw her milk at me this morning. One day they got a call from the facility he worked out and they told him that they had moved one of his patients to the hospital. At the hospital the patient had been calling out \”Steve, I just need Steve\” and the hospital could not find a relative in his chart with that name. So Steve jumped in the car and went to visit him at the hospital. He had a wonderful career as a registered nurse and was always a great provider for his family.

In 2005 they bought a home in South Jordan Utah where they were again blessed with an amazing neighborhood and Ward! By then Jason had left home and soon met Jennifer Tanner. Jen was a wonderful addition to our family. And Steve and Laurel adored her from the beginning! They gave Steve and Laurel two wonderful grandchildren. Drake Ray Roberts, and Sophie Belle Roberts. Steve and Laurel enjoyed every bit of time they got to spend with their beautiful grandchildren.

In 1994 Steve and Laurel took the boys and headed for Disneyland in their old van. When they got close to Orem the van threw a rod through the engine and so the local dealership put them in a brand new van with all the bells and whistles. The first night when we got to the hotel room Steve and Laurel laid down to relax for a bit and the boys sat on the balcony with the key fob and honked the van\’s horn every time someone walked by and then they would giggle and roll around on the patio, it was hilarious! Disneyland was wonderful and Steve and Jason took all the scary rides while Laurel and Blake took the mellow rides, like the teacups.

Blake lived at the home in South Jordan until his passing in 2023.

In 2009 Steve retired at age 60.

Wendy “Granny Gwennie” Castro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and fiercely loyal friend, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, October 13, 2025—just as she had entered this world, in the stillness of morning. It was fitting—she loved the mornings. She was always the first one awake, up before the sun, ready to take on the day long before anyone else even opened their eyes.

She was born in the early morning too—February 10, 1949 at 2:30 a.m. at Cottonwood Maternity Hospital in Murray, Utah. Even her entrance into the world had her signature timing.

On April 27, 1968, she married the love of her life, Frank Castro, at the Elko County Courthouse in Elko, Nevada—at exactly 3:15 p.m. (because yes, she remembered the time). They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 10, 1979, with her stepfather, Milton Bell, as a witness—a deeply meaningful day for their eternal family.

From a young age, Wendy was bold, talented, and fearless. At just 19 years old, she won a furniture design contest and was invited to speak at a convention in San Francisco. Most people would have been nervous—Wendy packed her bags and went alone. That was her: confident, independent, and ready to face anything.

If you knew Wendy, you knew she was witty, funny, sharp, and unapologetically blunt. She didn’t sugarcoat a thing. One of her classic lines the family will never forget: “You don’t have to like it… you only have to do it.”

And somehow, when Wendy said it, you actually did it.

But beneath those sharp edges was a uniquely pure heart and unmatched loyalty. She loved deeply—and she showed love through action. She made everyone’s Halloween costumes by hand. She made homemade everything. If she knew what you liked—your favorite snack, drink, blanket, or TV show—it was waiting for you the moment you walked through her door. Wendy noticed. Wendy remembered. Wendy cared.

To her family, she was “Granny Gwennie—full of gumption and grit.”

Wendy was an incredible cook and a natural entrepreneur. She had a gift for creating beautiful meals and unforgettable gatherings. Wendy didn’t just cook—she loved people through food. Every dish was her way of saying, “I care about you.”

She was also a powerful force in her community. As President of the Little League Football League, she ran it like a CEO, took it from broke to profitable, and—if you asked her—she’d tell you every championship that followed started with her.

And honestly… she wasn’t wrong.

As a sister, she was the fearless ringleader—full of wild ideas and just dangerous enough to be fun. She always talked her brother Blake into trying every stunt first. Blake passed earlier this year, and it brings the family great comfort to imagine the two of them reunited—probably already causing trouble in heaven together.

Wendy poured her heart into her family, and they were her greatest pride.

She is survived by her husband Frank Castro, and their children: Kim Castro-Kimball; Jeremy and Robyn Castro; Kris Castro & partner Amy DeLaRosa; David and Kim Castro; Danny and Bobbi Castro; and Kathy and Victor Montoya.

Her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren include: Alena Kimball, Mathew Castro & partner Annessa, Geofery, Summer, Scarlett, and Theo Kimball, Tiffany and Andrew Burr, Makayla and Kevin Hanzen, Lindsey, Andy and Drew Oakeson, Riley, Zach, Blakeli Jackson, Decker and Stevi Jackson, Shelby Castro, Paige and Tyler Gossard, Lucas Castro, Carson and Aniston Castro, Coal Castro, Kemper Castro, Tatum, Presley, Rushton, Baylor, and Julian Castro, and Bodhi and Roux Montoya.

She is also survived by her siblings: Leanne Maynard, Neil and Sheri Bell, and Skip Bell.

She was preceded in death by her sister Kayleen Brewer, her brother Blake Bell (earlier this year), her mother Doreen (Ila Dorene Smith) and stepfather Milton Bell, and her biological father Paul Linton and stepmother Stella Linton.

Wendy was the kind of woman you never forgot. She could make you laugh even when you didn’t want to. She could tell you the truth even when it wasn’t easy. She was strong, stubborn in the best way, wildly capable, endlessly creative, and she loved her people with everything she had.

Her legacy lives on in every costume lovingly sewn, every meal made from scratch, every football game won, every family gathering she made special, and in the countless moments where her love and loyalty held everyone together.

She didn’t just raise a family—

She built one.

And in true Wendy fashion, she probably wouldn’t want us sitting around crying too long.

After all…

“You don’t have to like it—

you only have to do it.”
