A few years ago my son and I went hunting with Joe and the girls. I went out with all the kids to hunt while joe went off to another area. My son and Jordynn went up into the stands and Kaidynn went a short distance away to hunt from the ground. No hunting happened because this was the first time ever she had Rob all to herself to ask questions about her dad’s past. So we talked and laughed and made sure no elk would come anywhere near us.
About every 30 min. or so she would wonder away to pee. One of her trips to go potty, as she was coming back down a hill she slipped and she grabbed a burned out tree for support. Well the tree came down and it sounded like the entire first was coming down around us. The look on her face was shock, then her big smile, and then started laughing. At that point the hunt was over and we headed back to camp. I’ve never have so much fun not getting an elk.

Our hearts are broken at the loss of Kaidynn. We have some sweet memories and enjoyed the time we had with her. She seemed so shy at first, then opened right up and was friendly with hugs and shy smiles. We got to surprise her on her 16th birthday with a cake and ice cream. She was so surprised that we would do something for her because she was away from home and thought her birthday would go without notice. She was so grateful to be remembered and looked surprised.
We love the Maynes family and you are all in our prayers

Such a tragic loss of a beautiful young girl. My prayers and condolences to all whose life Kaidynn touched, Especially my Nephew…Buddy be strong, remember the good things and always know there are people who love you and are here for you no matter the need or ask without judgement. Such a tragedy this beautiful young lady could not find the comfort to persevere the challenges that wrought our teenage children in today’s society. God bless the parents, my heart cries for you. I cannot, will not ever imagine such a huge loss. May the community take you in their arms and support you through this loss.
